About Lil:
Being a caregiver and health provider has been an integral part of my adult life. I started my medical ‘service’ as a nurse’s assistant in early adulthood, followed by several years as a medical assistant for family practice physicians. My wish for the personal contact and the ability to get to know our patients, as well as the individualized care they received in private practice, lead me to pursue the profession of therapeutic massage. I wanted to learn more about the body and soul connection and how to assist in healthy changes for my clients in a more personal and comfortable environment.
I graduated from the 1000+ hour course for Massage Therapy at the Desert Institute of the Healing Arts in Tucson Arizona in 2001 and immediately opened 'As You Are' Therapeutic Massage. Since then, I have had the opportunity to assist in the health and healing of a myriad of wonderful folks.
I am licensed by the state of Arizona to practice massage and I complete at least 25 hours of continuing education every two years to keep my licensure and increase my knowledge base.
I currently hold the office of 1st Vice President of the Arizona Chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association. I am enjoying the ability to volunteer and to help work to promote the profession that has brought me so much joy, satisfaction and confidence and has allowed me to assist other people in reaching their personal goals of health and wellness. I feel so blessed to have found my 'calling' and be able to 'touch' others in a healing and positive way.
